History
Casino Sounds concept was to become a label focused on recordings of Cuban ‘retro’ music. Innovative products that did benefit from the popularity of the old musicians but also seeking to take the market in new directions with stylish, energetic young Cuban musicians - thus creating Cuban ‘retro hip’. Some of this jewels of music still unreleased. Casinosounds project one was the album "mi casa, su casa" by Los Fakires. Signed and released by Universal Music. The second casinosounds album, "Tresencia" by Paco Canals (“El Gordo”) one of the young masters of the "tres", Cuba’s unique traditional guitar. The third project was the last album by the late great Raul Planas, Cuba's last Sonero Mayor. Another very important casinosounds project was the ownership and creation of the “Saratoga Band” recreating the Cuban dance band sound which, with its rumba/conga/mambo/Afro-Cuban rhythms, took the world by storm in the 1930’s, 40’s and 50’s. Signed and released by Sony Classical.
